My Story

Hi. The name is Sadé, not Sadie, not Sade, not supercalifragilisticexpialidocious just Sadé(Shaday) like the singer...you know 'Smooth Operator'?... Well, if you don't what are you waiting for download it now!!!

Now, let's get back to business,  here's a little about me and how Steeping Bathhouse came to be!

I've always loved tea, but loved the more exotic flavours. Like flavours you wouldn't think to pair together but they end up meshing beautifully with each other. Tea is nothing like coffee, the smell, the taste. Each sip you take allows you to pick up a different flavour note you didn't taste before. Reminds me of a good red wine (and if you are reading this and you are under the legal drinking age it reminds me of tea...and that is all, nothing more & nothing less). But like a lot of people I started drinking tea for the added benefits they are said to have.

However, I wouldn't say baths were my all time favourite things, growing up I was more of a shower kinda gal. I was always very active so I preferred the quick philosophical shower moments like what came first, the colour Orange? Or Oranges? Or when I'm trying to have a quick Mariah Carey moment but needed the sound of the shower to drown out how terribly awful I am at singing. But the older I got the more appealing baths became. I just turn on a little classical or some great acoustics and it was nighty night for me. Baths definetly turned into more of a ritual than anything, a way to get out of my head and into my present self.  The only issue I had was how dry & irritated my skin would get at times from bath bombs, bubble baths & bath salts and no one wants that. So I tried to think of a more natural way. Well actually my friend told me to find a more natural way, so I did! I came across shops that were selling herbal tea baths and I fell in love with them! They only issue I had was how small they were, the were nearly as big as an actual tea bag and I would end up using like 5 for each bath! So I said why not make them bigger!

Bathing in herbs and flowers have been around since ancient times, and you see it often in movies and at fancy resorts that make those cute little towel animals on your bed and I figured why can't I do that? Why can't my life feel like a magically luxurious oasis all the time?!? I wanted to create an experience, because a bath is more than just a bath for me, it’s where I can connect with myself & I wanted to bring that entire experience to you, in hopes of it helping others to do the same!

So instead of waiting for another trip to Bali to feel pampered & connected to myself again, I created my own moments of bliss & calmness at home and hopefully it will help do the same for you!
